One of my all time FAVORITE drinks from Starbucks is their “Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Expresso“. And, with everything now-a-days costing a fortune, ($6.00 for a medium coffee!!!), I decided to try and look for a way to make this coffee at home. I tried to make enough for a whole week, or just a couple days if my mom stops by. She loves to snag a bottle!
What you will need:
- Brown sugar
- Water
- OAT-LY! oat milk
- Starbucks Iced Coffee, Unsweetened Blonde Roast
I bought these reusable plastic juice bottles from Amazon (https://amzn.to/3LcALYF) (affiliate li and they are the best! It even came with a sponge to clean them with, and the funnel. It comes with 12 bottles, but I usually get about 8 bottles worth from one batch.
Starbucks uses the OAT-LY! brand of oat milk that you can find anywhere. I purchased mine from Walmart ($4.98). I like to use the Starbucks cold brew coffee; shown on the right, which is only $5.98 so you are still saving money with making your own.
The Recipe:
1) Add 1 cup of water to sauce pan
2) Add 1 cup of brown sugar to sauce pan
3) Bring water and brown sugar to a boil and simmer until the brown sugar is melted. (About 5 minutes)
4) Remove pan from burner and set aside
5) Add 1/2 cup of OAT-LY! milk to each bottle
6) Add 3 tbsp of brown sugar sauce to each bottle
7) Fill up each bottle with the cold coffee
8) Place the lids on and give them a good shake
9) Keep in the refrigerator for up to a week or two!
You will more than likely have leftover brown sugar sauce. Place in a glass jar and put in refrigerator for the next batch.
Total calories for one bottle is approximately 90 calories.
